Oral Drug Delivery
Oral drug delivery, a $25bn worldwide market, continues to grow. Although oral drug administration is the preferred method for taking medication, many novel therapeutics continue to be administered parenterally (by injection), most notably peptides and peptide mimetics, due to poor absorption across the intestinal barrier. Merrion's proprietary oral drug delivery technologies address this issue by delivering drugs to patients more efficiently and with fewer side effects.
Merrion's platform technologies have been demonstrated to improve significantly the performance of a variety of drugs tested in Phase I clinical trials.

Merrion's unique, oral drug delivery technologies include Gastrointestinal Permeation Enhancement Technology (GIPET™), Gastrointestinal Retention System (GIRES™) as well as a variety targeting technologies including approaches to the oral delivery of vaccines.

GIPET™ is a technology platform, which greatly improves the delivery of poorly permeable compounds to the bloodstream after oral administration.

Targeting Technologies
