Analytical Chemist

Profile

This position requires a highly-motivated person with a pro-active ‘can do attitude', as well as an aptitude for problem solving and troubleshooting in a R&D project environment. The ideal candidate should have a strong desire to succeed and be able to work to challenging timelines.

The individual will work as part of a cross functional team but should also be able to work independently. The candidate should be able to take responsibility for their own work, interpret findings and report back to the team. The position requires a person who is flexible and enjoys working with a steep learning curve.


Qualifications

PhD or MSc in Analytical Chemistry, with a minimum of one year relevant experience or Honours Degree in Analytical Chemistry (or Chemistry) coupled with significant relevant work experience.

  • Provide analytical chemistry expertise to support new formulation development using Merrion's proprietary drug delivery technology
  • This role is non-routine and will allow for significant personal development

Responsibilities

  • Analytical method validation; new materials analysis; QC analysis; stability studies; equipment maintenance and calibration
  • cGMP compliance for clinical trials materials
  • Participate in a multi-disciplinary team environment for the planning and execution of new pharmaceutical product development projects
